The International Symposium on Archives and Archival Studies, planned to be hosted by the Directorate of State Archives, will be held on November 6-8, 2026, at the Ottoman Archives Complex in Istanbul, under the theme of New Approaches and Sustainability in Archival Studies.

The symposium aims to address current developments, methods, and practices in the field of archival science and to provide a platform for sharing knowledge and experience among professionals, academics, and researchers. The program plans to feature presentations by participants from different institutions and countries on their work in the field of archival science.

All academics, researchers, and professionals in the field who wish to contribute to the discipline of archival science, both theoretically and practically, are invited to submit papers for the symposium. The event aims to create a platform for solving current issues in the field and developing global archival standards. Applications are welcome from all participants who wish to contribute to the scientific knowledge in the field through the sharing of information and experience.

Some of the topics planned to be discussed at the symposium are listed below for your consideration. Papers on different topics are also welcome, provided they adhere to the general framework. We would also like to inform you that the papers presented will be published as a Special Issue in the Hazine-i Evrak Journal of Archive and Historical Researches. Hazine-i Evrak Arşiv ve Tarih Araştırmaları Dergisi‘nde Özel Sayı olarak yayımlanacağı hususunu bilgilerinize sunarız.

Additionally, we would like to inform you that if the submitted papers are accepted, they will be published as a Special Issue in the Hazine-i Evrak Journal of Archive and Historical Researches, which is included in the TR Index. Please submit your abstracts, along with your current CVs in both Turkish and English, to www.sempozyum.devletarsivleri.gov.tr by May 31, 2026, at the latest.
